This is a picture of Helen bubbling over with joy as we strolled down the Champs-Elysees taking in the Christmas lights and buzz of Paris.

nov-20-2008-in-prague1This is my one-handed attempt at capturing the stunning views of Prague and getting both Helen and I in the shot.  We are having a blast as we take a couple of days R&R before a couple of big conferences (Helen in Poland and I in Ukraine) and then home for a huge weekend… marriage seminar and church with our 6:00 Sunday night launch in our new VCC City location – UBC Robson Square.

joyce1Helen and my admiration for Joyce Meyer and her amazing team has exponentially multiplied.  We had the privilege of seeing her in action at her ministry headquarters in St. Louis.  The vision that it took to build her world-changing ministry literally boggled my mind!  We are so thankful to her and her team for all they do.  Thank you Joyce.

Change of plans makes for a fun weekend

zhenya_veraHelen and I are looking forward to a great weekend at home with our great friends Zhenya and Vera from Kiev Hillsong.  Originally we were supposed to be in California teaching a marriage weekend but some last minute changes have happened allowing us to be home.  This will be a great treat for us.

We love Zhenya and Vera.  They truly are world changers and our congregation loves them too.

Can’t wait.

I simply can’t resist…

3 11 2008

john-and-i-halloween-silly5 The Burns family loves to laugh, loves to celebrate, loves to tease … that is why I simply can’t resist this opportunity to share a fun birthday celebration that we recently had at our home on Halloween night. Our daughters served us a scrumptious dinner and everyone came all dressed up and the party was on! Of course Papa (John) was the silliest of all and not a single photo taken of him where he didn’t make this goofy face

There were numerous times that evening that we laughed to the point of tears and it felt so good.  Life has had numerous challenges for us and our loved ones recently, so in the midst of all of the battles that continue to rage…we celebrated life, family, friendship and mostly the goodness of our amazing God. Let me encourage you to do the same – a merry heart is good medicine for your soul. Enjoy….

Baby, you've got it!
