Dealing With our Past

Dealing with our past

I watch this in light of the past couple of months of crazy in our lives and it is right on!  I needed this.

Jack and his frosty

20 10 2008

Kids are so great because they are not shy about what they love.  Jack loves his frosty as he does most any chocolate drink.  In the mornings he doesn’t really wake up till someone makes him a ‘fluffy’.  This is a warm chocolate milk drink with a little whipping cream on top.

I love this picture because his eyes tell the whole story.

Spoiled by Jack Frost again

15 10 2008

Early morning frost spoiled by plans to play a fast early morning round again.  Instead, I’m at the office early getting ready for a full day… staff meeting, planning meetings,TV stuff,  Mercy Ministries stuff and corporate prayer meeting tonight.

Missing my golf run (I literally jog most of the course with my clubs on my back) means I will have to try to fit some exercise in elsewhere which doesn’t usually work for me.

Thank you for your prayers!  Helen’s dad is feeling great and we had another Balzer family thanksgiving bursting with thankful hearts!

My mom too is doing miraculously well.  We had the family gathering (this time 68 places set) on Sunday with the Burns’ and she looked better than ever.

Prayer really does work.  Just a few weeks ago, both Helen’s dad and my mom did not look well at all.  Both of them have been recovering from cancer treatments.  We were considering monthly parking passes at the hospital and to see them both home, healthy and happy is a miracle that screams, “Thank you!”

On a different note, I am loving teaching the book of Revelation in this month of October.  The message this last weekend was a power packed, faith filled, motivating message and after preaching it three times on Sunday morning while driving like an eagle out of heaven back and forth from our Surrey campus to our VCC east campus, the adrenaline was pumping!  It was all around a great day.

I’m looking forward to this next weekend when I will attempt to tell the storyline of the whole book of Revelation.  Pray for me.

I am loving the book of Revelation and the timing is perfect!

12 10 2008

I must admit this month has been challenging.  I am attempting to teach through the book of revelation in this month of October – that means condensing the whole book into 4 easy-to-understand messages of about 35 minutes each.

As a pastoral team, we decided this direction for October months ago – long before the stock market crash hit.  With the much talk of global economy and massive overnight changes with governments and elections, the timing is perfect.

I am only half way through and still very challenged so I would really appreciate your prayers.

How do you compare? Our Men’s Conferences always seem to get better!

3 10 2008

It is hard to compare but I think this year’s men’s conference was our best.  I would like to see some of the many pictures taken… when I find them, I will post them.

I would really like to know what you thought… please post some comments about this year’s conference.

By the way, we have confirmation that Pastor Paul Scanlon from Bradford, England will be one of our key note speakers next year and in order to accommodate him coming, we’ve moved the dates to Oct 2-3, 2009.  Paul’s daughter is Charlotte Scanlon Gambill, who spoke and last year’s Life Women conference and will be speaking again this year.  Paul is one of my most favorite preachers – worldwide.  I am pumped for MVP 09. Can’t wait.
